Performance Plates: Cinnamon and Apple Porridge

In collaboration with our partners, Female Football Nutrition Network, we are bringing you a new series called 'Performance Plates'. This cinnamon and apple porridge is a balanced mealth slow-release energy, it keeps you full and energised throughout the morning.
Cinnamon and Apple Porridge
Ingredients
30g porridge oats
1 apple (peeled and chopped)
1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
95ml skimmed milk
120ml water
2 tsp flaked almonds
Drizzle of honey
Method
1. Place the oats, apple and cinnamon into a small non-stick pan.
2. Pour in the milk and 120ml of water and cook over a low to medium heat for 5-6 minutes, stirring constantly till the oats are soft and creamy.
3. In a dry pan toast the almonds until they go golden brown.
4. Pour the porridge into a bowl and sprinkle with the flaked almonds and a drizzle of honey to serve.
